The Knoxville Chamber is expanding its website to include more pertinent information and business news than ever before. While the look has remained much the same, the fundamental change is in the amount and way that relevant news is delivered to visitors.
One of the most noticeable changes to the site is the addition of more news stories to the site’s home page, located at www.knoxvillechamber.com.
This collection of articles will be updated frequently and will include local and national news that impacts the regional business community. It will also feature information about the Chamber and its upcoming events and activities.
Another addition to the content of the site is two weblogs, or blogs. These will also provide important information about the business community, but will allow readers to discuss these topics of interest with the Chamber writers and each other.
Visitors are encouraged to become a part of this new online community and participate in these discussions about important business topics.
The first of these two forums will contain news about the Chamber, Chamber members, and important events. It will also feature news and links to topics that are relevant to the business community – both local and worldwide.
The second blog will feature topics related to developing and maintaining a quality workforce in the region. The Chamber joins with various educational institutions and employers to foster increasing the skill level of workers and students as well as retaining qualified employees locally. This blog will discuss these issues and news items that relate to workforce development.
Both of these blogs are linked from the Chamber’s home page, and can be found just above the news stories and under the heading “Latest News.” In order to comment, you must login, which is a quick and easy process.
The Chamber staff hopes that the additional content of the website will allow the local business community to both better interact with each other and stay better informed of the news and events.
